Writing Prompt #13

Write about your favorite activity.  Convince me why I should try this activity and why it is enjoyable.
My favorite activity would have to be bowling.  I have been bowling since I was a little kid.  My entire family loves to bowl.  We have all been on a bowling league at some point.  My sister and I have both bowled on the high school team.  Bowling is enjoyable because it is something everyone can do.  It isn’t just for young people or old people.  They even have bumpers on the gutters so little kids can bowl.  You can bowl if you are perfectly healthy or if you are in a wheelchair.  Bowling is just a fun thing to do.  It is fun to roll a ball down the lane and see how many pins you can knock down.  You should try bowling because it is really fun!

Writing Prompt #12

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be and why?

If I could change one thing in the world, I would make it so people don’t think it is okay to be mean or rude to anyone or anything.  A lot of people in this world think that it is alright to do anything to anyone in order to be happy.  That really is not true.  You need to think of others before yourself.  Think of what you are doing and how it will affect others.  Think before you act or speak, not after.  People do not seem to think of the consequences of their actions.  They don’t think of how what they are doing can affect others, and they really should.  I think if we changed that, this world would be a much better place.

Writing Prompt #11

What is your legacy? What are you leaving behind for others? (or what do you hope you are leaving behind for others)  Another way to think of this question: how do you want to be remembered by future students? Or do they want to remembered at all? If not, why not?

I hope that I am leaving behind some positive things for others.  I like to try to keep a positive attitude in everything I do and be a good role model.  I do this so people younger than me don’t see how some of my classmates act and think that is the only way to do things.  I really hope that some people see my behavior and try to copy it.  I learned that if you are a positive person and you think happy thoughts, life will be easier for you and you won’t be so miserable.  I really hope that I show that and some of the younger kids pick up on that and try to be positive and teach kids younger than them the same thing.

Writing Prompt #10

What are your five favorite songs at this point in time?  Why?

1.       “Some Nights” by Fun- I really love this song.  It is really catchy.  Parts of this song remind me of things that are going on in my life.  I like pretty much everything by Fun.

2.       “Glad You Came” by The Wanted- This is a really good song.  It sounds really cool.  It would be a really fun song to sing along to, if I could sing.

3.       “Titanium” by David Guetta and Sia- This song has a good beat and a good message.  It is just a really good song.  It is on “Pitch Perfect”, and I really enjoy that movie!

4.       “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-A-Lot- This song is really just fun.  I’ve been listening to it for practically my entire life.  I remember dancing to it at the dances we would have at the summer camp I went to as a kid.  It just brings back a lot of awesome memories.

5.       “Abracadabra” by Frank Ticheli- We played this song for band a while back.  It is a really good one- probably my favorite I have ever played for concert band in high school.  I really like music by Frank Ticheli because he writes music with a lot of good clarinet parts.  His songs make it fun for clarinet players like me.  “Abracadabra” is just a really fun and intense song and I could listen to it or play it all day long!

Writing Prompt #9

If you could create a movie of your life, who would you cast and what would the story be?

If I could create a movie about my life, I would cast Kristen Stewart as me.  I would cast her because people say that she does not show very many emotions and they also say that about me.  For the role of my mother, I would cast Julie Walters.  Julie Walters is awesome like my mother.  They also both look really awesome with red hair.  I would cast Mark Williams as my father because they are both really good dads.  Kaley Cuoco would be cast as my sister, Amanda, because they are both blond.  The story could be about my senior year of high school.  It could show all of the highlights of this year.

Writing Prompt #8

This quote says that you should not do what everyone else is doing.  Do what you want to get where you want to be.  You cannot necessarily get where you want to be in life by following what everyone else is doing.  You should not let other people tell you what to do.  If someone tells you what you want to do is stupid, you probably should not listen to them.  Something inside of you knows what you want, and you have to listen to that.  You need to be able to follow your heart to get what you want.  If you feel like you want to do something with your life, you should probably do it.  The most important thing in life is to know yourself and knowing how to get what you want.  Just listen to yourself and no one negative and you can be anything you want to be and do anything you want to do.

Prompt #7

If you could meet anyone - past or present - who would it be and why?

There are so many people I want to meet, but right now I would most like to meet Rebel Wilson.  I want to meet her because she is really hilarious.  She played Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect.  She was really good in that movie.  She is a really good actress.  She was born and raised in Australia, and that is really cool.  Rebel Wilson has an awesome accent.  Everything she says is automatically one thousand times funnier because of her Australian accent.  It would be fun to just have a conversation with her.  Rebel Wilson also has some very nice hair.  I like her “Orthodox Jew Ponytail” that she has in Pitch Perfect.

Writing Prompt #6

What are you most proud of?

I guess I am most proud of how I have stuck with bowling for a long time.  I started bowling in second grade.  I still bowl.  I have improved a lot since second grade.  I have really improved since I stated bowling for the high school team.  Bowling is something I really enjoy doing.  I am really proud of myself when I get a good score.  I do not always do well though.  Sometimes I get mad when I do not do well, but I try not to.  I will continue to enjoy bowling for a really long time, because I am proud of myself for sticking with something for so long.

Writing Prompt #5

What motivates you?

My parents and friends motivate me.  My parents are proud of me when I get good grades.  That motivates me to try hard and do my best on my school work.  My friends motivate me by telling me I am good at what I do.  That makes me want to do it more, and get better at it.  I like it when my friends tell me I can do something that I am unsure about.  It motivates me to try something that I would not necessarily do on my own.  Support from friends and family motivates me to become a better person and be all that I can be.

Writing Prompt #4

What is your personal credo (belief)?

I believe that everyone deserves respect.  I feel that not enough people are respectful of others these days.  People are getting more and more disrespectful every day.  There are a lot of disrespectful people on the internet.  It’s like people think that they can say or do anything they want, just because they aren’t talking face to face with people.  A lot of those people that say disrespectful things on the internet also do not show any respect to anyone outside of the internet.  Some people these days don’t show their parents any respect at all.  That just amazes me!  If I ever talked to my parents the way some of my friends talk to their parents, I would be in a lot of trouble.  I would also feel really bad for it.  I was taught to respect people.  Treat others the way you want to be treated.  If you respect people, chances are they will respect you back.

Writing Prompt #3

What characteristics do you value most in a friend? Explain why they are important.

The characteristics I value most in a friend are honesty and loyalty.  I need my friends to be honest with me.  You can’t trust someone that never tells the truth.  You can’t be friends with someone if you don’t trust them.  Trust is extremely important with friends.  I can’t be friends with someone that never tells the truth.  That’s just not cool.  Loyalty is also important because there is no point in having friends if they aren’t going to have your back.  I would like to have friends that are going to stick up for me.  I think it is important for everyone to have at least one friend that will always be there for them.

Writing Prompt #2

What does the following quote mean to you? "You don’t get to pick where you’re from, but you always have control of where you’re going."
You have no control over what family you are born into.  You can’t decide who your parents are going to be.  Although you can’t control who your parents are, you can control your future.  You can choose whether you are going to be a hard worker or a slacker.  You have the power to control what path you will take in life.  If you are born into a family that is poor, that’s not your choice, but you can work really hard when you get older to become successful.  Sometimes people are born into families that do not necessarily have a good name, but they work hard all of their life and make a good name for themselves.  I feel that you control your future.  If you work hard, you can go places in life.

Writing Prompt #1

If a handful of people can change the world for the worse, then I am certain that a handful of people can change the world for the better.

What will you do do to make this world of ours, which feels so broken right now, a better place?

In order to make this world a better place, I will try to help people that are in need.  I could do this by donating food or clothes to people that need them.  I could also do this by listening to people when they have a problem.  Some people are in need of someone to talk to.  Sometimes people put up with crud from other people until they just can’t take it anymore.  They then think of doing something bad, like harming themselves or other people.  Sometimes all they need is someone to talk to, someone to care.  I will help them by listening to their problems.

College

I have not applied to a college yet.  I have no idea what college I would like to go to.
